The design

Conceptualized as a modern suit of armor, this jersey celebrates warrior culture. The front features a wave pattern inspired by traditional Japanese art, embedded with a samurai mask (menpo) and imagery of the kabuto helmet and katana swords. This Eastern influence merges with Neapolitan heritage through ornate Baroque trim framing the collar. Running vertically down the right flank are the characters for the seven virtues of the Bushido code, including respect, courage, and loyalty.

The story

The shirt honors the sister-city bond established in 1960 between Naples and Kagoshima. Despite the geographic distance, both port cities share strong geological parallels, each overlooking prominent active volcanoes—Vesuvius in Italy and Sakurajima in Japan. Part of the campaign was filmed at the Zen Ten Shin temple in Fuorigrotta alongside students from the Samurai Academy Naples, emphasizing the cultural exchange.
