The design
For the 2025/26 season, New Balance designed an away kit with a striking gradient that transitions smoothly from deep purple at the top down to a soft cream white. To reference the local culture, a subtle tone-on-tone floral graphic is integrated into the fabric, taking inspiration from Leverkusen's historic Japanese Garden, while red details reference the city's industrial roots.
The details
The club's iconic 'Werkself' nickname is applied neatly to the outer back of the neck. On the front, the Bayer 04 crest sits on the left side, opposite the white New Balance logo. The jersey is completed by BarmeniaGothaer on the chest and the Niedax Group sponsor on the left sleeve. Off-white shorts and socks round out the full uniform.
The story
Despite being launched during the club's pre-season tour in Rio de Janeiro, the design remains closely connected to the club's home base. It aims to capture the distinct contrasts of Leverkusen, merging the heavy, energetic feel of its industrial backdrop with the serene nature of its famous botanical spaces.
The launch
Unveiled on July 11, 2025, the shirt was scheduled to make its competitive debut on July 18, 2025, in a pre-season friendly against the Flamengo under-20 squad in Brazil.
