The story
Feyenoord and their technical partner Castore handed the design process over to the club's loyal supporters, affectionately known as 'het legioen'. Supporters submitted 3,929 initial design ideas, which were whittled down to a shortlist of twelve. After two subsequent rounds of voting, the fan base selected this winning concept. Designated as a special fourth kit, the shirt will be utilised during both the 2025–26 and 2026–27 campaigns by the men's and women's first teams.
The details
The jersey is packed with fan-centric elements, notably on the reverse where the squad numbers host 2,945 first names of registered Feyenoord supporters. In another symbolic gesture of appreciation to the fan base, Castore opted to replace its traditional brand wordmark beneath its logo with the text 'het legioen' for this release.
The launch
Sales of the fan-designed shirt commenced on Friday, 12 December 2025, via the club's online portal, official physical fan shops, and Castore's Rotterdam retail outlet. The shirt made its competitive debut on Sunday, 14 December 2025, when Feyenoord traveled to face rivals Ajax. An accompanying lifestyle capsule range consisting of a hoodie, jacket, t-shirt, cap, and scarf was launched alongside the match kit.
