Home Shirt 2017/18

The design

The jersey is characterized by striking red stripes positioned across the chest and shoulder sections. While modern manufacturing ensures a contemporary cut and improved comfort on the pitch, the visual layout draws heavily from a historical archival piece.

The story

This design serves as a tribute to a legendary moment in Hamburger SV history. Its appearance is modeled on the unique kit worn on June 6, 1983, during the final match of the season against Schalke 04, where the club secured the German championship. The original shirt was incredibly rare, having only been used in that single competitive fixture and two subsequent friendlies.

The launch

Officially unveiled on July 6, 2017, the kit was introduced under the campaign slogan 'Früher war alles besser… aber heute ist`s schöner' (Everything used to be better... but today it's more beautiful). It went on sale immediately in men's, women's, and children's versions across all official club retail channels.
