The design
PUMA's design for the 2020/21 home shirt offers a refined take on the club's traditional look. It features narrower black and white vertical stripes compared to previous iterations, maintaining the classic Newcastle United aesthetic while delivering a sleeker modern alignment.
The details
The jersey incorporates PUMA's dryCELL technology for sweat-wicking performance on the pitch. Following a newly announced long-term extension, the logo of primary partner FUN88 is featured on all adult replica shirts. The full kit is paired with classic black shorts and black socks that feature white horizontal hoops.
The launch
The kit debuted under unusual circumstances at the tail end of the coronavirus-disrupted 2019/20 season. Newcastle United wore the strip for the first time on July 26, 2020, during their final match against Liverpool. It went on sale the same day online and at the St. James' Park stadium store with social distancing guidelines in place.
