The design
The look of the jersey draws direct inspiration from the design of the club's away shirt from the 1999/00 season. It also integrates a throwback crest design inspired by Newcastle's visual identity from the 1980s.
The launch
To mark the release of the strip, Newcastle United set up a temporary pop-up retail space within the Euro Sports store in Ginza, Tokyo. Former club forward Shola Ameobi attended the event to meet fans who queued up to purchase the new kit ahead of the team's pre-season match against Yokohama F. Marinos.
